We are so grateful to all of our supporters and every donation makes a difference to local children. When we receive donations on a regular basis, this helps the charity to plan ahead and develop our projects, supporting families in more ways.

You can set up a regular donation either by direct debit through our website, or you can instruct your bank directly to set up a standing order. It can be monthly, quarterly or annually – or whatever you want!

If you give regularly to Wood Street Mission, your support enables us to future-proof each of our five projects, so the charity can withstand changing times and react to families’ needs.

Here are a few examples of how your donations can make a difference to our projects…

At our Family Basics project, families can choose day-to-day essentials for their children, such as a new pair of PJs or a complete set of warm and dry bedding.

One parent told us that their children were so excited to put on their new pyjamas from Wood Street Mission that they kept wanting to go to bed early!

Thanks to your support, local children can feel safe and secure at bedtime.

Another example is our Smart Start project, providing new uniform so local children can fit in and focus on their learning.

A mum recently told us:
“My children looked absolutely beautiful in their uniform today, first day back to school. This year has been an extremely difficult year financially for my family.

Honestly the uniforms we received we wouldn’t have been able to afford without your help. You are really making a big difference.”

Did you know about our Crisis Service? We often receive emergency referrals for families who need urgent support for essential items and children’s clothing. Sadly, we hear of families who are escaping domestic violence, or who have lost their home to a house fire or flooding.

These families need support from Wood Street Mission to rebuild their lives and your donations mean that we can quickly provide vital items they need such as a pram, clothing or bedding.
